Another non productive week

I'm really having trouble focusing and actually accomplishing something, I'm doing a great job of starting and leaving things.  On September 14, I will be teaching a soy wax on fabric class here at my studio for the regional SAQA group. I really want to get some new samples made and plan the class, but I keep getting distracted by a lot of other things that I really don't need to do. If you are interested in taking the class, there are still spaces available.

I have another idea for an almost daily project (like I need another!) that keeps bouncing around in my head. I keep putting it off, but it won't go away so I think it's telling me I need to do it. I'll keep you posted.

My garden has been pretty dismal this year, but I've been getting and enjoying some wonderful produce from our local Farmer's Market. Saturday morning I bought the largest blackberries I have ever seen.
That's a quarter next to them! They were huge, quite tasty also.

Home Sweet Home, Again

Well I was home last week for two days before I left again. A family matter took us to Reno for a few days, the best part was I got to spend time with all three of my kids and four of the grandkids, it was great! Needless to say I don't have much to show other than my daily projects. I will show you the piece that I assembled from parts I took on the first trip.

I have fabric ready to be dyed teal for the backing, I'll quilt it along the diagonals where it was pieced and then donate it to a local fundraising effort. The reds, golds and plaids are all a cotton/metallic fabric that I've had for a long time. I also have enough parts leftover to make a table runner.

Home sweet home

I'm back home after wonderful week at Diamond Lake. We explored, shopped, ate well and thoroughly enjoyed floating on the lake, but it seems no matter how much I enjoy my time away it sure feels good to be back home. I will miss looking at this view everyday.

I also did a bit of sewing and kept up with my daily projects.

The new season of Quilting Arts TV has started and in the area that gets Boise's PBS station I'm on next Sunday (Aug. 19) and if I counted right Sept. 22 at 2pm. I do know that each PBS station sets their own schedule so if you want to see me I'm on shows #1204 "It's all in the technique" where I do screen printing with masks and show #1209 "Functional Quilting" where I talk about my daily projects.
I've received my copy of the dvd shortly before our trip, we brought it along and had a viewing night. The dvd or individual shows are also available on quiltingartstv.com

The porch is done and I'm headed out for a week with the girls.

The porch is finished and we love it!

Now I get to go away for a week!!! Early tomorrow morning the car is headed north to Diamond Lake, WA where I will spend a week with friends. We went last August  and had so much fun that we're doing it again. There's no wireless at the cabin so there won't be any blog posts until I get back. I've lined up a week of black and white photos on my daily photo blog.

Today I picked up my entries for the county fair, along with eight ribbons(and a tiny bit of cash). My quilt "365 days of being 65", the daily project for my last birthday year won a special award that came with a great big multi colored ribbon.
