New Year, New Projects and the Same Old Blogger Problems

Thank you to all that posted or emailed to let me know if they were or were not having problems getting my blog to load. I'm really confused now because some of you are having the same problem I am and others are not, it takes several minutes to load on my computer but loads instantly on my phone. As much as I love this new technology it sure is frustrating when you have no idea how to fix something.

On to new stuff!

I have one more of the 20" napkins that I have been using for my daily stitching so I'll have two daily stitching projects to start the year with.

2020 Daily Stitching#1

I may use some fabric scraps on this one, but there are also a couple of other ideas floating around so nothing is definite yet except for the rainbow colored blanket stitch. These are the scraps they may get used.

2020 Weekly Leaf week #1

I have several cyanotype prints of Burr Oak leaves so to start the year I'm stitching them. They may end up altogether in a larger piece.

I took a group shot of all of the 2019 Leaves. These will get mats and be ready to frame individually and will end up for sale if I get my act together.

SAQA Benefit Auction
I've done a small piece (6"x 8") for the silent auction that will be held at the annual SAQA Conference.

I'll be linking up with "Off the Wall Friday" and "Slow Sunday Stitching"

Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) has two auctions a year, the Spotlight Auction is held during the annual conference and the Benefit Auction is held in September. I have both of the pieces I'm donating ready to go, I just have to go to the postoffice.

SAQA Spotlight Auction

I will not be going to the SAQA Conference this year but I've sent in a piece for the Spotlight Auction. I really enjoyed participating last year, although the prices went up beyond my budget. The piece I've sent in for this year was a sample I did before last weeks tea bag leaf. For this one the leaf was free motion machine stitched and the background hand stitched. When I read the size requirements for the submission I found that it was the perfect size.

I added the felt back because it needed to be 6"x8". Since it will be matted for the auction, the felt will not show.

The Weekly Leaf
This week I pulled out one of my pressed leaves (I have a box full)placed it on my fabric and traced around it.
Then added lots of stitches.

Week #4

Daily Stitching updates

Gelli prints #19-#25

Sari Ribbon #312-#318

I've also printed quite a few black circles onto white fabric squares, 9" and 6", then cut them into 3" squares. So far I'm a bit discouraged with my results of rearranging them, but it's helping me realize just what I do have to print to get similar results to the small piece I showed last week. Of course those pieces had been printed and cut up several years ago and where much smaller, so trying to recreate them has been a challenge.
