Learning something new

I decided it was time to learn something new, so I just took an online class from Linda Germain on Soft Plate Relief Printing. Recycled foam plates and trays and sticky back foam were used to create printing plates. Class exercises were done on paper, but the process also works on fabric. Here are a few of my prints.

I also have a rather large pile of rejects and I haven't done the final assignments yet. It was fun, I like her teaching style and it's always good to learn something new.

I pieced one more donation top from that huge bag of scraps and then passed the bag of scraps on to someone else.

Scraps

I've put together one more top out of donated scraps, but now have another large bag full in my sewing studio. Here's the top

And here are the bags of scraps, many of them are fat quarter size or larger.

I have a friend whose Mom makes lots of donation quilts from scraps so I'm going to give her most of them, I have enough of my own.

Speaking of scraps, this is the container of scraps I'm using for the landscape project. I shove everything back in and put the lid on everyday. It feels like it's getting fuller, I must have everything stirred up pretty well.
