We've been traveling for the past week and are currently in Las Vegas so that my husband can bowl in the National Bowling Tournament. I am not a fan of Vegas, and this whole casino thing I can do without. Not many of you know, but I spent 22 years of my younger life in the casino industry and I am totally done with it. The highlight of the stop here is that yesterday we got away from the casino and drove to the Valley of Fire, which is awesome. I love red rocks and concentric circular patterns so I was happy.
The only negative was the temperature, it was in the mid 90's so it was much too warm for me to do any hiking. Next week we have plans for a few more red rock stops in Arizona and Utah, so I'll be happy.
I have been doing a bit of stitching, I can't do any while in the car, I just watch the scenery go by. I do it during downtime in the evenings or early morning or afternoons like now while hubby takes a nap because he bowls very late tonight.

Those rocks are fabulous. I can just imagine the inspiration you are gaining from the landscape.
ReplyDeleteInspiring photos as usual and an interesting detail about your past life! Who knew!?!
ReplyDeleteThose rock formations are amazing! I'm with you about Los Vegas.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I love what you are doing with the red threads and how much variety you are getting with just one stitch.
Love those stitched leaves and oh those red rocks it's one of my favorite things to visit when I am out west. A few years ago I discovered the lovely Providence Canyon state park in Georgia its nicknamed little grand canyon its a lovely place to hike.
ReplyDeleteGreat stitching, and great scenery!
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Las Vegas. It's surprised how disconnected the casinos are from the residential areas. I don't gamble so I never gave them a thought. That's fun that you're husband can enjoy his bowling. Don't forget to go to Christmas Goose while you're there.
