I found a piece of blue fabric that I had dyed and printed that was perfect for filling in the spaces of the pieced blocks I showed last week.
Then I pulled out a couple more pieces that were large enough to cut bigger blocks from and put this one together.
Both of these are now layered and ready to quilt. Then I think it will be time to stop making donation quilts for a while and get something else done. Things like its spring and the garden is calling, Studio B (my wet studio) needs its annual reorganizing so I can actually use it, getting ready for the class I'm taking the beginning of April and a trip to Washington after that.

Tulips
My kids sent me a large bouquet of tulips for my birthday to get me ready for our trip next month to the Skagit Valley Tulip festival in Washington State. My tulips here at home are about 6 - 8 inches tall already and will probably bloom while I'm gone. My daffodils are already blooming.
I found a new home for a few of my quilts that had been unearthed from the cupboard last week. These two that I made in the early 90's have found a good home.
I also sewed some more scraps together, now I need to find something to fill in the spaces.
2018 Weekly leaf #12
This will be the last of the paper towel ones (at least for a while).
Next up will be some cyanotype (blue print) leaves. We had a few days of bright sun so I took advantage of it. It's been pretty grey and rainy since.
2018 Daily stitching days 75 - 81
I took a few process pictures of this section, hopefully to show how I use what's printed as a suggestion of what to stitch, but then let the stitching go off on its own.
There was a hexagon with lines that didn't connect .
The french knots made their own lines.
Filled in with straight stitches.
Just about half done.

Clearing Out Storage Cabinets
In the past week I've made two trips into Boise to the Apple Store, spent over three hours with a tech and my iPhone still will not send pictures to my computer. Very Frustrating !!
I've been taking my frustration out on my storage cabinets and have been clearing out lots of old stuff. Of course I've found some treasures that I won't part with, but the majority is going away. I found some cross stitch pieces I started fifty plus years ago, finished the last one in the 90's and have never done anything with them.
They are birth records of my three children, the first two were done right after their birth but the last one took over twenty years to do. Then I folded them up and put them away, I think it is time to do something with them. I'm just not sure what.
I've pulled out old samples for classes I taught, lots of old pieces that I look at and think, "What was I thinking?" I pulled out more plastic bags than I'll ever need and a stack of journal quilts from 2001 - 2003, there are more of them around but they haven't surfaced yet.
There's also a stack of books. I have friends coming over for lunch tomorrow so they get to go though them before I take them to the Library for the book sale.
The only sewing I've done is the hand stitching on my weekly and daily projects.

Yesterday was my birthday and I finished my 71 Days of Marks on Tuesday then did an extra on my birthday.
I've completely filled the notebook and have no real inclination to continue. I don't think it will become one of my regular practices, but I did make it through the 71 days.

Another Donation Quilt
I've done very little sewing this week, but a whole lot of time on the computer with Apple Support. One of my problems solved, another I figured out myself and the third one I'm hoping will be taken care of tomorrow when I go into Boise to the Apple Store. Ugh!
I did finish up another quilt top, got it and the one I showed last week layered and ready to quilt, I just haven't done it yet.

And the stitching goes on...
I pulled out scraps again this weekend and pieced another donation top.
The stripes are pieced and were originally made for something else at least a decade ago, feels good to actually use them. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever run out of scraps.

Another one from the dyed soaked paper towel.

I'm running out of pages in the sketchbook, so I'm doing more than one per page and using a different pen. The last four were done with a Micron 05. Only 12 days to go.
