A doll???

I'm not a doll person, but I have seven granddaughters and each of them has gotten a life size doll when they turn three. The youngest turns three this week and I've gotten her doll finished. She is three feet tall and I felt like it took me forever to get her made. Here she is sitting with the quilt that I also finished this past week.
Here are #42 - #48 of my daily stitching project. This week will be a test for me, it will be the first time that I'll be traveling while doing a daily stitching project. I'll let you know how that goes.
I have been spending time in my backyard just breathing, we have two very large lilac bushes that are in full bloom and the fragrance is wonderful.
On Saturday I went to my friend Lisa Flowers Ross's open studio at her home in Boise. It was wonderful, she had her work so well displayed and very professional looking. I didn't take any pictures, but our friend Kathleen did and you can see them here.

Another birthday gift!

On Saturday my friend Judi from Reno was driving thru Weiser and took the opportunity to stop and visit. We had a very short but delightful visit. Judi brought along a gift for me from our friend Gayle, a crocheted Lotus Mandala Prayer flag, in daffodil and sky colors. I've hung it in my studio window.

You might also notice that there's a quilt getting quilted in the picture above. I'm about half way thru after a rough start. I was going to use a variegated thread, but it broke about every three inches. I tried a different brand and type of thread and had the same problem. So I ended up using a solid color poly thread that's working just fine, just not what I had planned.

Here are #37 - #41 of my daily project.

A few pictures of the tree on the front corner of our yard in full bloom.

Daily project, #31 - #36

Only 329 to go!

I have nothing else to show and nothing interesting to write about. I have gotten some vegetables planted and I made some awesome rhubarb bread and a rhubarb sauce from my rhubarb plant. Other than that it's been pretty quiet around here.

A bit of quilting, a bit of knitting and possibly some avoidance

I spent a couple of hours layering the eight donation quilt tops I've made in the past few months so that I could get them done. I have two quilted and ready to donate to the local Project Linus chapter, six more to go.

I also layered the quilt from leftovers, but I think this is where the avoidance comes in - I'm not sure how I'm going to quilt it. I usually just start with a vague idea in my head as to how I will do it and just go from there, but so far my vague idea hasn't inspired me to start. I also have two other quilts laying around that are waiting for some big chunky hand stitching. So instead of jumping in and working on the big pieces that I don't want to screw up, I'm do the simple give away ones. At least I'm thinking about what I might do with the others.

I've also been knitting, I finished the first sock of my second pair. It took me two months to do one sock, so this pair will be for next winter.

And here are #26 thru #30 of my daily project.

Daily project update

Today is day 25 of my year long stitching project, so I put all of them in order starting with the upper left. I'm really enjoying doing these, trying out some different stitches and just seeing what happens every day. Many of the squares I cut have very similar patterns on them, so I'm trying to make each one different.

I'm also playing with my tree ideas. This one is about 13" square and I've done machine stitching to make the trees. It still needs more stitching.

Top done

I've got the quilt top made from the leftover fabrics from my "65" project all piece. There will be more leftovers on the back along with a larger piece of fabric fabric that's currently in a dye bath. I've got a binding pieced from the leftovers ready to go. There's still more leftovers, but they've been put away for awhile.

Here are #18-#20 of my daily project.
