Oak Leaves

A friend of mine has an oak tree in her backyard so I gathered a hand full of leaves to print. Most of the oak trees around here are red oak and have points at the end of the leaves, but I was told this is a Burr Oak and the leaves are more rounded. At any rate I liked the shape of the leaves. I had time to do four cyanotype prints, removed the color from three of them, left one that way and then toned the other two. So far I have the prints, an idea or two of what I want to do with them, but that's as far as I've gotten.
The top left is the unadulterated cyanotype, top right is with the color removed, bottom left is toned with red wine and bottom right is toned with tea.

  3. The stitch you used down the center of the leaf...the center vein...what is it? It looks rather like an elongated stem stitch? Every time I see your leaf collage stitchery, I love it more!! :)
