I've started daily stitching #2, same size napkin, but this time I've started in red. So far I've got the outer circle done in a stem stitch and have the inner circle partially done. IN the photos below hopefully you can see the woven in pattern that I followed (greek key) the last time. This time it will be done a little differently, but I'm not sure how yet.
The interior of the circle is a woven in floral, and like the last one I will not be following it. I'm still mulling over what to do and I probably won't know until I pick up the needle and start stitching.
I posted my last one on Instagram and was stunned that it has received over 2000 likes. If you'd like to follow me on Instagram I'm at @thrulindaseyes .
I rinsed out the fabrics that were dyed with avocado pits a few weeks ago and they didn't loose any color, so now I have them pinned together and will hand stitch them with matching threads.
Another donation quilt was quilted and is folded up waiting for space on my table to trim it so that I can get the binding on.
2019 Weekly Leaf week 14
Solar fast on vintage silk
Part way through stitching I noticed that the negative shapes in the leaves also form leaves.
I'll be linking up with "Off the Wall Friday"

Can't wait to see what you do with that red on the napkin. I'm impressed with the avocado dyeing. I might have to try that. I certainly eat enough avocados. Have you seen the new mini avocados? Just the right amount for avocado toast.
ReplyDeleteSo fun to follow your progress on the new circle piece... the blue circle was amazing! Love how you make it up as you go along... truly intuitive stitching!
ReplyDeleteAn empty circle, just waiting for more amazing stitches....I can’t wait to see what you do next!
