A couple new wet cyan pieces

I've found that if I reward myself with some playtime, I actually get some studio organization done. Playtime this week was a couple of wet cyanotype prints and I love how they came out. I did some large leaves from my back yard.

This is from a locust that is growing where it's not supposed to, the background is 24" h x 15" w.

This one is from my grape vine, about 16" x16".

I finished the stitching on the two indigo silk pieces, they just need some hanging sleeves and labels, I have no idea what to name them.

Thanks to everyone that commented on their favorite layout for the four inch squares, it was pretty evenly divided between the 2nd and 3rd layout. I've sewn the pieces together in rows, but I haven't sewn the rows together yet so I still have both options available. I'm leaning toward this way.

This is how my design wall looks right now, I've got plenty to work on.

  1. The one with the stitching between the orange pieces brings to mind a friend's copper lotus rain chain.

    1. You're right it does look like a rain chain, I'd never noticed that.

  3. What do you plan to do with all of the leaves? They really spring to life with your stitching.

    1. I'm going to mount each one on mat board so that they will be ready to frame and then hopefully sell them. That's the plan, I have some of the mat board but haven't attached any to it yet.
