25 Million Stitches

  To give you an idea of how oversized the hands are, I've included my own in the photo below.

There's not much happening here, I'm keeping up with the stitching but nothing new to report. Tomorrow is hubby's last chemo treatment, yeah!! The cumulative effect of these treatments is really starting to wear him down so hopefully after this one he can start working on getting his strength back. He has a month before surgery, hope that's long enough.

A Bit of Improvisational Piecing

I gathered up the scraps left over from Don's Chemo quilt and spent some time sewing them all together. I'm now sewing together what's left plus a few more pieces to make the back. It will be a donation quilt.

Lots of Stitching

I've started my panel that I'm stitching for the "25 Million Stitches"project.

This is one of three oversized hands that I'll be stitching, each will be a different shade of tan or brown. I also plan on stitching the entire background, that's a lot of stitches but no where near 25 million.

2019 Daily Stitching #4, days 50-56

This past week I've gotten to spend some much needed time with friends. On Saturday my friend Barbara and I went to Boise to an annual artist open studio event. I bought two of the daily explorations that  Lisa Flowers Ross had done earlier this year.

Each one is a collage of various items she had in her studio, mounted on a 5" square board panel.

Then yesterday a group of us made blocks for a quilt for an older friend that has moved to be with family. We used fabrics that were given to us from her stash. It was good to keep our hands and minds busy and just talk, next week we should be able to get it all assembled.

100 days of stitching finished

I did the last four pieces of the SAQA 100 day challenge and then spent a long time arranging and rearranging the squares before finally sewing them together.

I've started a new project to take its place, I'm going to participate in the "25 million stitches" project. You can read about it here. I've got my 15"x 32" piece of muslin ready to go.

2019 Daily Stitching #4, days 43-49

As of today my hubby is 3/4's of the way through his Chemo infusions, so far everything is going pretty much as planned and it looks like his surgery will be in early December. So far extreme fatigue has been the worst side effect, and I hope that's as bad as it gets. Thanks to all who have wished us well.
