Making more botanical print cards and a quilt top

The week seems to have just slipped by, where did it go, what did I do with that time? I did make a quilt top out of a pack of 10" squares, I think I'll also add a border to it.

This was probably not my best use of time, but hey, a girl has to just sit and sew sometimes. I have no plan for this, it might end up as a donation quilt.

I turned some more botanical prints into cards and went through the pile and found more that will work. I've got about 40 made, I think I'm about out of envelopes so I'll have to stop soon go shopping.

Botanical printed cards

Thank you to all who wished me good sales at the Art and Craft show, I've got 2 more weeks to go . The dates of the show are November 16 and 17.

This week I gathered up all the botanical prints that had been done on paper and made cards out of them. Here is a sampling.

I'm very pleased with how they came out and I finally found a use for all the prints. I originally did on paper because that's what I had instructions for, but since I normally play with fabric I experimented and found out what works on fabric. I even had the card stock and envelopes, so another project done using what's on hand.

Autumn leaves

I take a walk most mornings shortly after I get up, lately it's been very dark and I've just been focused on where I'm walking so I don't fall or run into something. Yesterday I decided it was time to take a second walk in the afternoon when I could see, and look at what I brought home with me.

I miss all these beauties in the morning. I do love some leaves with color.

Next month I'll be participating as a vendor in the annual arts and crafts fair here in town, after saying  I'd never do it about 13 years ago. I spent 16 years as a vendor at Quilt shows around the West selling hand dyed fabric and burnt myself out and the local craft shows were never a good option for me. But as I go thru all the stuff I've made and have sitting around here I thought it might be worth a try.

I found a stack of journals that I have received over the years and never used so I'm making covers for them with a zippered pocket. I have four done and 2 to go. These are the only new things I'll be taking.

I knew I had some scarves that I had dyed and when I dug them all out I was rather shocked to find that there were 35 of them. Silk ones and rayon ones, some were blanks that had already been hemmed, but several were just long strips of torn fabric with very soft frayed edges. I like soft frayed edges so that's the way they are staying. Those will all be for sale. I also have several small quilted pieces that have been mounted on canvas, those will also be for sale.
