We have had several very grey rainy days and several more in the forecast, and that's my excuse for not being very productive. I did start my Christmas postcards, but I'll write about them next week, after they go in the mail. Here's a quick peek.
Yesterday a couple of friends and I went north about half an hour to the small town of Cambridge, ID to attend a Christmas concert that a couple more friends were involved in. The concert is held every December in the exhibit hall of the fairgrounds, not a typical venue for a concert. Last year Christmas quilts were hung along the walls to add some ambiance. This year the theme was snow and there were large paper snowflakes hung from the ceiling and on the walls. I did get a couple not so great photos.
The three of us had a hand in making some of the snowflakes, there were lots of them. My friend Jeanette made over seventy them, my contribution was in the single digits, but I did contribute a big roll of paper.
The Weekly Leaf
Jeanette not only made snowflakes but she also gifted me some leaves she had collected.
I printed them onto Jacquards cotton fabric that's treated for ink jet printers. Put misty fuse on the back of the fabric and cut out the leaves. I used the little green leave this week, the colorful ones have been saved for another week.
After cutting them out they were fused to a piece of hand dyed fabric.
Then stitched.

The grey weather is making it very difficult to get enough light for good pictures.

5k, Grandkids and Creating.
Thanksgiving and all the family have come and gone. We had a great time, did the 5k turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning, ate way to much and enjoyed each others company.
Here we are at our after race coffee and smoothie stop, only one not doing the race was my husband, he stayed home and baked cookies.
The Grandkids usually want to play with fabric and paint in Studio B, but this year they spent most of their time in Studio A playing with fabric and the sewing machine. All but the six year old created something, all on their own without any adult guidance. Below is a piece that my 10 yr. old grandson did.

I had a box of scraps for them to use and use them they did. The top part of this one is polar fleece, they had no rules and just combined whatever was in the box. It was quite delightful to see what they created and the fun they had doing it. The only time Grandma was called in was when they had a machine glitch, like running out of bobbin thread.
After they left I got busy and quilted a queen size quilt that a group of us have made for a local couple that lost everything in a fire.
Yesterday was my last post on my daily photo blog . After six years of daily photos I've decided I need a break, of course today I feel like I'm forgetting to do something, but I'm sure I'll get over it. If I don't I can always start again.
The Weekly Leaf
This week I used a SolarFast print form last Aprils play day.

Holiday Preparations
Most of my past week has been spent cleaning and getting ready for family arriving for Thanksgiving. It's the only time of the year that my house fills up, all four bedrooms and seven beds get used and even the blow up bed comes out of the closet. The fun starts tonight, I'll be driving into Boise to pick up one of my granddaughters flying in from college. The rest of the group drives in on Tuesday and Wednesday. Of course mother nature is getting involved, there are storms predicted for both travel days.
I used the fleece scraps from the robes to make warm beanie hats, a dozen of them.

The kids and grands will get to pick any they want and the leftovers will go to a local cancer treatment center as chemo hats.
The Weekly Leaf
Lately I've been doodling very simple leaf shapes.
So I decided to carve a very simple leaf stamp.
Stamped with Jacquards textile paint onto hand dyed fabric.
