Lunch and a Messy Paint Day

There is a group of us that get together once a month for lunch, it was my turn to host last week. We did a quick sale bar for lunch and then headed out to Studio B to play. We did a messy painted canvas, I'd seen it on Pinterest and I think a blog or two and thought it would be a fun project for this group. The rest of the group has little or no dyeing and painting experience which made it even more fun. We started with a piece of cotton duck, six colors of pastel paint (one for each of us) and kept moving around the table covering the fabric with paint.

Then we used darker colors and some found objects to add a layer of images.

Some foam stamps also got added in.
Then the photographer forgot to take pictures of the next steps. We added some images stamped in black and the everyone used some colored fabric pens to do some drawing.
Then the fabric was ripped into six pieces and here is the happy crew with their handiwork. From left to right Adele, Jeanette, Esther(I only got the top of her head),Donna and Barbara, my piece is on the table.

Next month we are each supposed to bring something we've made from our piece of fabric.

Hubby has been through his first chemo treatment and so far the only adverse effect is that he is very sleepy. But then I am too and I didn't get a treatment - it was a long day.
