Week #3, Seventy days to 70

Well, last week I complained about the cold, it has "warmed" up since then, today is in the low 30"s. My complaint this week is the extra foot and a half of snow we received. Because there were several feet of snow on rooftops we had to have our garage/studio shoveled off. Unfortunately there's no place left to put the snow. This is how the access to the garage and studio looked as they were starting to shovel.

Here's what the backside looked like after it was shoveled. My car is inside behind the snow.
Yesterday we had some heavy equipment and dump truck arrive to get rid of some, and Don shoveled the rest. Today I can get the car out! The snow has caused several collapsed buildings, including our only grocery store.

 Seventy Days to 70 #15 - 21

#15 Faux metal patina with acrylic paints
#16 Watercolor background with foil added
#17 Collage of recycled security envelopes
#18 Crayola fabric transfer crayons, happiness stencil
#19 chain stitch in hand dyed pearl cotton
 #20 Deka transfer paints
#21 handmade newspaper yarn couched with pearl cotton

I'm finding that its good to get out old supplies, the Deka transfer paint was so old that it was completely dried up. Fortunately the papers that I had painted were still usable. For those that are unfamiliar with these paints; they are painted onto paper then ironed onto a synthetic fabric to transfer the color.

The faux metal patina paints were not in much better condition. So I'm tossing a lot, which is a good thing.

  1. We don't have any snow--well, just a dusting. We have never had to have our roof shovelled off! I love seeing all your interesting circles and I love the stitched plus sign!

  3. I love your faux metal and chain stitch circles. Of course all of your other work is pretty too. That is a whole lot of snow. I don't think we have ever had so much snow that our roof needed to be shoveled. I am very thankful for that.
