More Donation quilts

In my effort to use up every bit of the scraps that I was given, three more donation tops are ready to quilt. The first is the pieced circles I've been working on for a couple of weeks, the second is the remainder of those scraps and some other fabric I was given and the third is from some lavender and green scraps. All three are layered and ready for me to quilt. The third one looks pink but is definitely lavender with a bright aqua background, the lighting on my design wall is not very good sometimes.

2019 Weekly Leaf #17

Dandelion leaves and solar fast , it has a wintery look to it, not what I was going for but that's okay.

I still am not able to respond to comments on the blog, but I really do appreciate them and thank you to those that post.

Sunshine

We are having some really wonderful spring weather so I haven't done much in the studio, I've been outside soaking up the sun.

I still can't answer comments. Thank you to all who made suggestions, I've tried them all and nothing is working.

I did get the semi circles pieced and the background fabric cut, but so far the center has been pieced but the rest is still pinned to the design wall.

The rest of the background is a light beige, because that's what I had. It will become another donation quilt.

Miscellaneous

First before anything else, if you commented last week, Thank you. Blogger will not let me respond to comments and I'm also back to not receiving them in my email. Frustrating because I have no idea what to change or how to correct it. I also discovered that last week was my 600th post, you'd think by now I would have this figured out :).

I've been playing with scraps again, I have a little orange bucket that holds assorted blue, orange, brown and a few other colors of scraps and I'm piecing them into semi circles.
I have no idea where this idea is going, but it allows me to just sit and sew, one of my favorite things to do.

Now for something totally unrelated, I'm on the Board of Trustees for our local Library and this past weekend I went to a Trustees Workshop. The sharing of ideas and things that work for other small town libraries was very energizing. It also made me realize how much I miss that type of interaction. I haven't been to a fiber related retreat, conference or workshop in several years, I'm thinking it must be time to do that again.

2019Weekly Leaf, week #15
I have a coleus that has some wonderful fuchsia and green leaves, so this week I borrowed one of the leaves, gel printed it in green and did some fuchsia stitching.

2019 Daily Stitching #2, days 8-14

I love the texture that the crossed running stitch creates. Now it's time to make a decision on what to do in the center.

Second 2019 Daily Stitching Started

I've started daily stitching #2, same size napkin, but this time I've started in red. So far I've got the outer circle done in a stem stitch and have the inner circle partially done. IN the photos below hopefully you can see the woven in pattern that I followed (greek key) the last time. This time it will be done a little differently, but I'm not sure how yet.

The interior of the circle is a woven in floral, and like the last one I will not be following it. I'm still mulling over what to do and I probably won't know until I pick up the needle and start stitching.

I posted my last one on Instagram and was stunned that it has received over 2000 likes. If you'd like to follow me on Instagram I'm at @thrulindaseyes .

I rinsed out the fabrics that were dyed with avocado pits a few weeks ago and they didn't loose any color, so now I have them pinned together and will hand stitch them with matching threads.

Another donation quilt was quilted and is folded up waiting for space on my table to trim it so that I can get the binding on.

Solar fast on vintage silk

Part way through stitching I noticed that the negative shapes in the leaves also form leaves.
